EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishops season has ended because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Bishop was hurt on a running play by Carolina in the second quarter of Sundays game. He walked off with a limp under his own power, and coach Leslie Frazier said afterward he didnt believe the injury was serious. But an MRI test later revealed the ACL tear, and Frazier confirmed on Monday that Bishop will need reconstructive surgery. This was a blow to an already struggling defence. Bishop took over as the starter at the weak side spot for the first time this year on Sunday after playing his way into the lineup ahead of Marvin Mitchell. Bishop missed the entire 2012 season with Green Bay after tearing his right hamstring.
